Hollis Fortune
Hollis was born in Hartford, and graduated from Simsbury High and nursing school in Boston. She raised a family in New Hampshire, two daughters and two sons, while working in the medical field. After pursuing many different paths in life and in profession, as well as in location, Hollis relocated to the Cape, where she had vacationed for years. Hollis has returned to the art field she studied years ago, and is now a member of several art organizations, including the She-Art Network, the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod, the Guild of Harwich Artists, the Cultural Center of Cape Cod, as well as Chatham’s Creative Arts Center. Hollis creates in many different media, including fibers arts, pottery, and photography, but now is focused mainly on painting. She finds the Cape’s beauty and light inspiring, and records her impressions in oil, acrylic, and watercolor.
